We’ve all heard of the word “cashmere”, but do we know what cashmere is really made of? White clouds and flower petals? Close. Cashmere is a wool that is obtained from the undercoat of the cashmere goat. It takes an average of about four goats to make one sweater. According to the president of the ‘Cashmere and Camel Hair Manufacturer’s Institute’: “It’s a very finite resource, there is only a certain amount produced in the world. Like diamonds or gold, it is rare, so it’s priced accordingly.”
So, now we know what it is. And, we know when it’s worn, right? Cashmere season is the epitome of being bundled up wearing a cozy cashmere sweater to keep out the icy cold and keep in whatever body heat you have. Except, cashmere season is every season…not just in the fall and winter. The magical thing about cashmere is that it can keep you warm in the fall and winter, but can also allow your body to breath during the spring and summer months. Year-round unicorn piece!
The Juicy Couture Black Label Mini Backpack shown in this outfit shot is made of the finest cashmere and has a “JC” embellished in shimmering Aurora Borealis Swarovski crystals. I wore it as a cross body bag (which is my favorite way to wear it), but you can also wear it like a regular backpack. This piece, which is from a 2015 Holiday Cashmere Collection (and is currently sold out everywhere), is available now in the link to my shop. Check it out, (here) and don’t forget: cashmere season is every season!
