When I was younger, I absolutely adored makeup. I loved how it could transform your skin to look pretty much however you wanted it to look like. Now, I still enjoy using makeup, but my passion has veered away from make up, and more towards skincare. I figured instead of covering up my skin to look how I want it, I should probably use products that will get my skin to be where I want it naturally…without any makeup. I’m still a makeup girl, don’t get me wrong. But ever since taking better care of my skin, I enjoy my days sans foundation and contour…whereas before, I dreaded those days.
When the Korean Skincare line, Saranghae (which means “I love you” in Korean..how adorable?!), asked me to try their five-step anti-aging routine I was beyond excited to try out their new skincare line and share my Saranghae review with all of you!
So, what exactly is Saranghae? Saranghae is an award-winning Korean 5-step anti-aging skin care routine that works in three ways, by: healing, regenerating, and protecting your skin. It is designed to directly address the root causes that lead to unhealthy, damaged, and aging skin.
The roots of Saranghae can be traced back 600 years to a remote, Korean village where soothing botanicals (like green tea leaves) flourished in the rich, volcanic soil found there. The healing properties were so renowned, there is even evidence that the Royal family of Korea made annual trips simply to harvest these wildly beneficial plants for their personal use. To this very day, Saranghae is still a family run business! And my favorite part is that Saranghae’s formula contains no heavy metals, parabens, or other nasty stuff!
Now, what’s included in the Saranghae 5-step anti-aging skin care routine and how has it been working for me? The products that are included in the bundle are:
Step one: Saranghae Nourishing and Moisturizing Cream
This product is a gentle, water-soluble, botanical based oil cleanser.
At first I was a little hesitant because I do have oily combination skin (meaning I’m oily in the t-zone of my face, and dry throughout the rest!) and it is an oil based product. However, it removed every ounce of grime and makeup off my face, and I didn’t get that extremely uncomfortable dry feeling all over my face like I normally do after I use a cleanser to wash my face. My face didn’t feel oily, it felt hydrated, which is crucial to prevent aging skin!
Step two: Saranghae Deep Radiance Essence & Serum
This product is designed to to penetrate your outer epidermis layer and deliver nutrients such as amino acids, antioxidants, and vitamins directly to the living cells within your skin.
Again, because of my oily skin, I always thought any type of serum would be a no-go! No way was I going to be applying more oil to my already oily skin. What I have learned, however, is that skin that is oily produces oil because of lack of hydration. So, whenever I would try to use mattifying anything on my skin, my skin would produce extra oil to compensate for the dryness. When you use a serum, it is putting oil within your skin, and your skin then thinks, “Okay, I’ve got enough hydration. No need to produce more.” Crazy concept I know, but to all my oily skin friends: don’t be scared of a serum! Especially this one. It has made my skin glow, and look and feel healthier.
Step three: Saranghae Firm & Lift Cellular Regeneration Cream
This product contains a powerful, yet natural blend of antioxidants, amino acids, and regenerative peptides that will give soft, hydrated skin, all while diminishing age spots, redness, and aging signs.
Right before I was sent this regimen, I was about to go out and buy another moisturizer that I typically use because I had just run out. This moisturizer came just in time. I adore it. The word that comes to mind whenever I moisturize, which is morning and night, is: luxurious. It feels like a thick hydrating cream, and while it does feel a bit thick on the skin at first, it sinks right in and I feel hydrated for the rest of the day/night. I have noticed that my skin feels smoother and has less rough spots from prior acne or dryness.
Step four: Saranghae Focus Renewal Eye Cream
This product includes elastin and collagen, and restores vitality, diminishes wrinkles, lifts and firms, as well as brightens the appearance of dark circles around the eyes.
My favorite product out of the bundle would have to be the eye cream! I am obsessed with a super hydrating eye cream and I have found that I actually won’t be able to sleep unless I apply an extremely moisturizing eye cream. This eye cream is perfect because it not only helps keep my under eyes hydrated and full of moisture, but because it brightens as well, I’ve found that my late nights of writing blog posts aren’t noticeable around my eyes anymore.
Step five: Saranghae Elemental Essence Mask
On Saranghae’s site, this sheet mask is comparable to a vacation for your skin! It’s a lightweight, micro-fiber material that contains a blend of Asian botanicals that aids in brightening and calming inflamed skin.
I love my own make-shift spa nights at home, and they always include a mask of some sort. I try to include a mask about three times a week in my routine and this sheet mask is easy, mess free, and gives me fast results. Once I remove the mask, I immediately see my skin is brighter and extremely hydrated. I rub in the remaining serum from the mask, and my spa night is complete!
Overall, I would recommend the Saranghae 5-step anti aging skincare system. It’s luxurious feeling, comes with everything you need for a complete routine, and it contains healthy ingredients that won’t make you second guess what you’re applying on your skin. I’m happy with how my skin has been looking and feeling, and I will definitely continue to implement these products into my morning and night routine!
